When I Grow Up, I Want to be Kate Middleton.

Only, I'll marry Prince Harry instead. God golly miss Molly....that man is capital F.I.N.E.!!! I think that as soon as I graduate college I'm going to move to England and become a "Harry Hunter." No, that's not something that I just made up off the top of my head, "Harry Hunters" are 100% bona-fide. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't ever write a description that would totally do them justice, so click HERE. You'll be amazed...

So, I woke up at 5:30 this morning to watch the royal wedding. I was so amazing! Let me just say that Kate Middleton is absolutely gorgeous. She looks like a real-life princess. Wait a second...she is one!!! Her dresses (well, two of them actually) were breathtakingly beautiful. Proof:

Gahhh, she is so pretty! And well, William isn't too shabby himself :) Actually, everything about the royal wedding, from the clothes, to the church, to the people was completely beautiful and completely extravagant. Makes perfect sense, since (heh heh) they're well you know, royals!!!
Normally I would never voluntarily wake up at 5:30 am, but I was just so excited about this wedding, and it was so worth it! It was super super cool to know that I was witnessing history!! Well, I mean I was witnessing history via my plasma TV screen ;)

On an interesting side note, I'm planning on going to study abroad in Wales during the spring semester of either my sophomore or junior years. I've been wanting to do this for quite some time, but as I was writing this post I had an epiphany of sorts.....
Guess who's gonna be a Harry Hunter????? ;D This girl.

America's Queen. How I wish I could have met her...

Let me just say this, I am fascinated by Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. I just love her, like I can't even begin to tell you how much! When I was a little kid I had paper dolls of her, I've did no less than three high school projects of some capacity of her, and when I saw some of her dresses on display at the Smithsonian....I was speechless. Don't judge me. She is just so beautiful, and classy, and well, awesome! I was reminded of my adoration for Jackie O. last night when I saw a promo for that HBO miniseries The Kennedys. In my most humble of opinions, she truly is one of the greatest fashion icons of all time.
Some photographic proof:

Gaaaah. She is just so completely awesome!
Also, click HERE to check out the HBO miniseries The Kennedys. Katie Holmes is no Jackie, but she's a pretty close second.

I Adore My Roomate's Closet.

Not only is my roommate Mary a totally awesome person, a fellow Harry Potter nerd, and pretty much my best friend...but she also just happens to be relatively the same clothes and shoe size as me! So guess what that means? We get to share clothes, yippee!! At the beginning of this school year we were so glad to learn that not only are our wardrobes the same size and awesome, but in the words of Mary "they compliment each other so well!" Well, now that the school year is drawing to a close we are both dreading being separated for the summer and missing each other. Or is it really that we just will be missing each others wardrobes?? ;)
There are a few particular items in Mary's closet that I have taken a particular liking too, and honestly I feel like I'm not ever going to have anything to wear this summer! I mean I have a top that goes with her pants, my shoes match this dress she has, or i need those earrings of hers to go with my favorite top! You get the picture....
Anyways, I think that I can survive without most of her wardrobe, but there are a few things that I don't see my self living without.
#1 She has this pair of super dark wash, super skinny stretch jeans from American Eagle. These are my favorite pants.......ever! And if I do say so myself I look quite good in those pants!! They look like these ones below..
Also, I really really like this her TOMS. They're turquoise, and and couderoy, and awesome:
she also had a brown leather belt that I love that looks like THIS
And these are just a few of the many wondrous clothing items that call her closet home...
In short, I'm going to have to do some serious shopping this summer if I'm going to have anything to wear! And I'll be excited for August when I'm reunited with my roommate's closet (and her too, of course)  :)

One Day Without Shoes!!

On Tuesday TOMS Shoes sponsored a nation-wide event called One Day Without Shoes. The purpose of the day was to raise awareness for those who go their entire lives without shoes because they have no choice. Gardner-Webb decided to participate in this event, encouraging students to go without shoes and even sponsoring activities on the quad where you could donate you used shoes, and pledge to go without shoes for as long as you saw fit. The event saw a fabulous turnout, and was a huge success! From going barefoot for an entire day, I have come to the conclusion that no one should ever have to go without shoes! My feet are sure to be sore for a few days, but it was totally worth it!!

So to further support TOMS I've decided to order another pair! And I think that these are going to be the ones :)

Also, please check out THIS VIDEO
to learn more about One Day Without Shoes and TOMS One for One movement! It's awesome :)

Whoa Buddy. What a Hat!

Ok, so I absolutely adore Kellie Pickler. I think it's a combination of her amazing singing voice and extreme goofiness that makes me just really want to meet her! Or maybe it's just because she's a southerner and native North Carolinian. Usually I"m loving her fashion (and especially footwear) choices. But today I saw a picture of her in the most horrendous feathered hat that I've ever seen in my entire life. Kellie darlin', that thing has to be at least three feet tall....what on earth were you thinking. Here, CHECK IT OUT!

PS: I know, I know. You're probably thinking: Ashley, she's at a fashion show...so cut her some slack! Still. I don't care, fashion show or no fashion show, that thing's still ugly!!

Spring has Sprung!

Finally, it's officially spring! And that means three different things: #1 The sun is shining! #2 The birds are singing! #3 Warm Weather is on the way!! Well unfortunately, I have super pale and sensitive skin so that means that I have to wear tons of sunscreen and usually stay under the umbrella at all times when I'm at the beach. Well next weekend I'm going to Charleston, SC on a trip with some friends from school, and unfortunately I won't be able to take an umbrella for when we are at the beach :( So I decided that in order to avoid any sun injuries, that I should definitely invest in an oversize floppy sunhat. So I found one for only $10, and it looks a lot like this:
Super adorable, cute and affordable!

Well, I also decided that to accompany this new sun hat, I need some new sunshades! Click HERE to see the ones I'm going to get!! They are so retr0-fabulous, and will look great with my new hat!

Uggs + Shorts = ?

Okay, so Uggs should not be worn with shorts. Ever. At any time. Yesterday in out cafeteria at school I saw a couple of girls definitely guilty of this fashion atrocity. I don't understand the appeal here because Uggs are clearly a wintertime footwear items, and shorts are clearly supposed to be worn during the summer! Duh.  But click HERE for a picture. Eyes beware!

Euphoric Excitement....This post is gonna be a little off-topic.

Ok, so I'm obsessed with Adele. Absolutely, positively, 100% obsessed. Her voice is like that of an angel, I just love her music so much! So sometime last week I found out that she was scheduled to perform at The Orange Peel  in Asheville. So exciting!! Well sadly, I was to learn that the concert was sold out and the cheapest ticket that I could find was $200. Yes, you read that right $200!!! Well, being the poor starving college student that I am...that's just not in my price range. So today, my cousin let me know via Facebook that the concert venue has been changed and that more tickets are going to go on sale on Saturday!! And the best part is, they cost a mere $55 :) So for those of you not familliar with Adele, here she is: She is such a fashionista!!
And if you click HERE you can listen to one of here amaziing songs "One and Only" off of here new album 21. Your ears will rejoice, for sure!

Mr. Schuester is Sooooo Cute!

Another Glee Realated Post! Mr. Schuester (otherwise known a Matthew Morrison) is pretty much a total hottie. He always looks so well dressed on Glee, and that is a look I love! He just always looks so put together (and adorable).
Exhibit A: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://meanmassive.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/glee-sexy-episode-15.png&imgrefurl=http://the-a-jurnale.blogspot.com/2011/03/glee-ful-sexy-substitute-but-equally.html&usg=__D3CLJlI6L9SyW0pFP3IOJHMH3KE=&h=278&w=500&sz=233&hl=en&start=116&sig2=IX9cvEFojgGgp5HwQwm36A&zoom=1&tbnid=2d6GDBq01n2SGM:&tbnh=100&tbnw=180&ei=EJx6TdGmI8iitgexo926BQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgwyneth%2Bpaltrow%2Bif%2Byou%2Bwanna%2Btouch%2Bme%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1076%26bih%3D450%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C3477&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=416&vpy=180&dur=202&hovh=167&hovw=301&tx=218&ty=62&oei=1Jt6TeL0FZSftweAyuHOBQ&page=12&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:116&biw=1076&bih=450

Gwyneth Paltrow Rocks Leather Pants Unlike Anyone I've Ever Seen...

Ok, so I adore the fashions on Fox's hit televsion show Glee, and I also adore the fashions on the show! This week the ever-fab Gweneth Paltrow guest starred as substitute sex-ed teacher Holly Holliday. During a song and dance number to "Do You Wanna Touch Me?" she looks amazing in a leather ensemble that anyone else whould have looked a fool in. To wear leather pants and look good, that takes skill. This is a really crappy picture, but here it is:

It's a Peep-Toe. It's a Boot. No, It's a Peep-Toe Boot???

I have stumbled upon what I think has got to be the most peculiar and outrageous fashion find in the history of mankind (save for the harem pant). The Peep-Toe Boot. Exactly what it proclaims to be, these little uglies are actually a boot or bootie with a peep toe! Please, can someone out there please explain to me how this is practical or useful in any way?? If it is cold enough to warrant the wearing of a boot, then a peep-toe is not needed. Likewise, if it is warm enough to permit the wearing of a peep-toe then a boot is not needed. This shoe just screams: odd and unpractical!!! But I digress, if there are those of you out there who will insist upon looking stupid in wearing the peep-toe boot...then you just go right on ahead.
A picture of the offending footwear:

I'm Not of Fan of These Looks. Not in the Least.

As much as I adore the Oscars and everything celebrity fashion related, I'll have to admit that there were some gowns wore this year that were definitely just not up to par!

Exhibit A: Melissa Leo. What the heck was she thinking, poppin that colla?? And the whole dress just looks like an ugly version of a doily my grandma might crochet. And plus, she just really made me angry by dropping the f-bomb in her speech. I mean come on lady, its the Oscars for Pete's sake! Have some couth please.
http://www.eonline.com/photos/gallery.jsp?galleryUUID=2864#114867

Exhibit B: Nicole Kidman. Oh Nicole, you looked so beautiful at the Grammys...and now this? It's like a complete 180. What were you thinking?
http://www.eonline.com/photos/gallery.jsp?galleryUUID=2864#114874

Exhibit C: Russell Brand. Five word say it all: He. Looks. Like. A. Pedophile. And my goodness, I can't believe that he is married to Katy Perry!!?

I promise that my next post will be far more positive :)

My Favorites.

As a disclaimer: all three of my posts this week will be dedicated to the fabulousness that is....the Oscars!! This is probably my favorite night of television for the entire year, it's just heaven for someone who is as obsessed with fashion and movies as me! So I thought that I'd start off the Oscar-themed week with a tribute to my top 5 favorite dresses from the 2011 Oscars. So Here they are:

#1. Mila Kunis. Go figure :) Everything about this dress is just gorgeous, the color, the fabric, the way it's constructed. Just everything is perfect. The dress just suits her perfectly, and really is the epitome of classy beauty. Take a look: http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449766_20466837,00.html#20917434

#2.Hilary Swank. Who would have thought it? Normally, I'm not ususally impressed with Ms. Swank's choice of dress, but this year she absolutely rocked it! That dress is just beautiful, and it works great with her hair and subtle make-up. And, as a feather addict....I absolutely love the feathered accents on the bottom! http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449766_20466837,00.html#20917545

#3. Natalie Portman. I LOVE HER! And I'm so very happy that she won best actress, in my opinion she so deserved it. Cause she was ah-mazing in Black Swan! And it can't be easy dressing for the red carpet when you're preggers, but she does it so gracefully and beautifully in this dress. She looks gorgeous, and I love the matching tassel earrings! Pregnant women of the world: you may no longer whine about not being able to be fashionable, because as Natalie shows us, it can be done!!
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449766_20466837,00.html#20917547

#4. Hailee Steinfeld.Ok I'm just gonna say this: she was robbed! She so deserved that supporting actress Oscar over Melissa Leo!! (I might have shouted at the TV a little bit when I realized that she hadn't won) Her performance was amazing and breathtaking, and she's only 14 years old!!! She so should have won. And she looked adorable on the red carpet! She actually managed to look very sophisticated, but yet age appropriate at the same time. Job well done!
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449766_20466837,00.html#20917418

#5 Jennifer Lawrence. This just might be the simplest dress ever, but she looks beautiful. The color and cut are just gorgeous, and her hair is the perfect compliment. She looks so classy!

It's Almost Time For the Oscars! Get Excited!!

So as I'm writing this, it's about 76 hours (give or take a few) until the 3rd annual Academy Awards broadcast! I'm so very excited, I'm majorly geekin out! Let me just tell you that if True Grit doesn't win  best picture, Natalie Portman doesn't win best actress (did any of you people see Black Swan?), Colin Firth doesn't win best actor, and Hailee Steinfeld doesn't win supporting actress that I am going to be a very unhappy girl. Now I know that's high expectations, but all of those performances were just so amazing and inspiring that I just don't understand how anyone else could win.
As much as I love the actual awards ceremony, I love the red carpet (and the GOWNS) even more!  Here's a picture of the lovely Sandra Bullock, who looked effortlessly beautiful at the 2010 Awards last year. The rest of you ladies take note:
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449766_20349134,00.html#20750758
I just can't wait to see all of the beautiful creations that Hollywood's lelding ladies will don this year!

PS: Attention Miley Cyrus: If you are attending please fire your stylist and seek other opinions on what you should wear. Because that sequined-tiger print combo platter dress that you wore to the Grammys a few weeks ago was not a pleasant sight!

New Favorite Thing: Wrap Bracelets!!

I was just online shopping (can you say, addiction?) on one of my absolute favorite sites, etsy.com. Etsy sells awesome handmade and unique items. While on there I found this gorgeous handmade wrap bracelet. I've been looking for a something similar for this for a while, I just hadn't found it yet! And of all the luck, I just happened to stumble upon it today. It's $30 bucks, but for a handmade bracelet out of brass and leather, that's really not to bad! Feast your eyes upon its beautifulness:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/66249218/fly-a-w-a-y-vintage-sparrow-genuine

Well folks: decision made! I am buying this thing! Now I've just got to come up with some sort of occasion to justify rewarding myself.....I've got it!
Happy Belated Presidents Day to me!! :)

Bitten: By the Bathing Suit Bug.

Readers, consider yourselves forewarned. Warm weather is on the horizon, and that means I can't be held responsible for the many future posts that will be centered around all things swimwear related. I love bathing suits, I absolutely love them!! So I was online shopping (I've told you, I'm addicted) and I have found the bathing suit of my dreams! Well, one of them anyway. It's from TOPSHOP, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Have a look-see:
http://us.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33060&storeId=13052&productId=2268370&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208662&parent_categoryId=208580&sort_field=Relevance&pageSize=20

And I've decided that I don't care that it costs $55 (that's pretty steep in my book), but I've got to have it :)

If Only My Feet Were the Same Size...

Yes folks, you read that correctly. My right foot is a whole half size bigger than my left. As you can imagine, this makes buying shoes rather difficult. Not all types of shoes mind you, but definitely flats or sandals without a strap because shoes are always too big for the left foot. Well, my black dress flats are ancient and looking pretty shabby, so I decided just to purchase some new ones. Easier said than done my friends. Y'all have no idea just how many pairs of shoes I've tried on, and not a one of them fit!! They are either too small for the right, or too big for the left. I'm specifically looking for black flat with a t-strap, or a strap across the foot. And, I think I've finally found a few pairs that I really like. So here are the links just take a look.
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19327584&navAction=jump&isProduct=true&parentid=MORE%20IDEAS&isProduct=true&cross-sell=true&guide-bn=true

And just a thought for all you shoe retailers out there, instead of making us buy shoes in pairs, why not allow people to buys single shoes? That way I could buy one 6.5 and one 7, and I'd be in business!! Just a thought...

Thrift Store Chic.

Right now I must profess my love...for thrift stores and yard sales. When I was younger my grandma and I would make a trip almost every saturday to thrift stores, and yard sales in the spring. I've carried this love into my semi-adult college student life, and it's a good thing because I'm a college student and I'm poor! So yesterday my roomate, another friend, and I went to a huge local thrift store that's like the size of a Wal-Mart. Once you get past the the funky old musty smell that hits you like stampede of bad air when you walk in the door, that place is a treasure trove of awesomeness! My friend got these super cool high-waisted blue pants that look like something Marcia Brady would have worn, and I got some vintage (I think that's just a fancy word for old)  Liz Claiborne plimsolls that are really cute. Obviously I couldn't find a link to the actual ones but they look very similar to these from Urban Outfitters:
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=13699160&pushId=WOMENS_SHOES&popId=WOMENS&navCount=9&navAction=jump&itemCount=80&itemdescription=true&parentid=WOMENS_SHOES&startValue=161&sortProperties=+subCategoryPosition,+product.marketingPriority

I'm sure that I'll have many more posts about really sweet (and affordable) thrift store finds! What can I say, I like my clothes with a little history. :)

The Grammys are a Fashion Train Wreck. For real.

The Grammy awards are usually full of horrible fashion choices, but I really was surprised that the fashion was even worse this year than normal. Out of all the gowns there were only two that I liked. The rest were horrific, and please, don't even get me started on Lady Gaga. She came our of an egg for Pete's sake! As far as "normal" gowns go, I'd have to say that Rhianna's was the by far the worse. It was essentially sheer netting with white feather boas wrapped around in strategic strips. And it must of fit her really oddly, because she couldn't even really walk in it. Hideous. Take a look if you dare:
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449764_20464808,00.html#20911847

On the other hand, Nicole Kidman's dress was amazing! I love Nicole, she's one of my favorite actresses. I think that she might just be the beautiful woman alive. No joke. Take a look at perfection:http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/gallery/0,,20449764_20464808,00.html#20911846

I Love Me Some Flats.

Thank you Urban Outfitters, for making cute and affordable flats! I was online shopping (I'm obsessed) and I found these adorable basket-weave flats from UO. They look super comfortable, and the reviews seem to agree. They're genuine leather, so that's just awesome. These are definitely going to join my collection! Now my only problem is deciding which color to get: black, brown, or coral??
Feast your eyes:

I Wish That I Looked Like Mila Kunis. For Real.

Can I just say this? Mila Kunis is awesome. I loved her in That 70s Show (hands down one of the best shows of all time). Over Christmas I went and saw Black Swan and I loved her in that as well. She's just a great actress, plain and simple. Not only do I admire her acting, but I'm a big fan of her red-carpet style too!

At the Golden Globes she looked ah-amazing in this emerald Vera Wang dress. Take a look:
http://news.instyle.com/2011/01/16/mila-kunis-golden-globes-dress-vera-wang/

At the SAG awards she wore one of the most beautiful dresses that I've ever seen. I want this dress, it's just my style! I love it so much, and wish it would take up permanent residence inside my closet. Prepare your eyes for some serious gorgeousness:

Coats Galore!

I don't know about everywhere in the nation, but here in the south we will randomly have these glorious 60-65 degree days, it's just great weather! I have to keep reminding myself that these days are just teasers, and there is still a good month- a month and 1/2 of winter weather left. This got me thinking that I really should invest in a new coat, because my everyday green  pea coat is beginning to look kind of shabby. But what style to get, pea coat, wrap or puffer? That is the question.

Here is a link to a gorgeous camel wrap coat as seen on Cameron Diaz. Obviously I couldn't afford the real thing, but I might come across a cheaper version.
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/gallery/0,,20442589,00.html#20878700

I also ADORE pea coats. And I really want a red one. Here is a beautiful red one that Selena Gomez wore to some event. I"m pretty positive that I would be able to find something similar.
http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/gallery/0,,20442589,00.html#20878692

And of course, there is always the puffer coat option. And they are just so comfortable! Here is one made by The North Face that I absolutely love! And the green color is awesome. I have to have this one!!!
http://www.thenorthface.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=AFYE&variationId=420&storeId=207&langId=-1&catalogId=10201&cm_vc=CrossSells

The rest of winter might not be so bad with one of these fabulous coats to keep me warm :)

Oh, How I love the Golden Globes!

The Golden Globes were last weekend, I love them so much! I went home for the weekend, so sadly I was traveling back to school on Sunday night and didn't get to see them. But rest assured I got on People.com to scope out my favorite part of the evening: THE GOWNS!!! I am obsessed with all the pretty dresses, I want be a movie star :) Don't judge me. So here are my humble opinions on the best and worst dressed of the night:

Worst: Jullianne Moore. What on earth was that woman thinking????? She is a beautiful woman, but this dress does absolutely nothing for her. Nothing, not one thing. That color is horrendous. The material is horrendous. Her hair is horrendous. And that sleeve is God-awful, just looking at it makes my blood pressure rise. Enough about that, but on a closing note: her stylist should be fired.

Best: Claire Danes. This woman is the epitome of class and beauty. She looks so glamorous, and the dress is beautiful! The cut, the color, the material...everything about it is just perfection. Her hair and jewelry compliment it perfectly too. It looks like something Jackie O. would have worn, and being compared to her is definitely a good thing! But, I'll stop gushing now. Attention women of the world: If you want to look glamorous, timeless, and beautiful; try taking a page from Claire Danes' book :) Here's a link, feast your eyes:

I'm addicted to People.com. Don't Judge Me.

Okay I'll admit, People.com is one of my guilty pleasures. I love to go on there and get my fill of all the celebrity gossip and news. Horrible I know. Those of you reading proably are thinking to yourselves that I should invest in a lfe outside the confides of this computer screen. Believe it or not, I do have one :)
But I digress. Aside from the inane celebrity gossip, my absolute favorite thing about People.com is their StyleWatch fashion section! Earlier today I was browsing through the "I Really Love My..." section and stumbled upon one of the most beautiful pairs of sunglasses that I've ever seen. Disclaimer: I am a shameless sunglass addict. These beauties were worn on several occasions by the ever-fabulous Anne Hathaway, whose style I greatly admire. And to top it off, the suglasses were belong to the "Elizabeth & James" line designed by none other than Mary Kate & Ashley!! Need I say more?
Here's a link, so check out the marvelous sunglasses for yourself!

Leggings do not equal pants. End of Story.

This wasn't my intended topic for this post, but after seeing countless girls in our cafeteria today who were guilty of the "leggings as pants" atrocity, I felt compelled to rant. Let's get one thing straight ladies: leggings were not created as a stand alone option for leg-wear. The are meant to be worn under pants for added warmth, under a dress, or underneath a long and slouchy T-shirt that covers the rear end. It is also acceptable to wear them to the gym for exercising or athletic purposes. They are not ever, under any circumstances supposed to serve as a substitute for pants. I don't understand how a someone can put on a too-tight shirt or sweater, leggings, and Uggs then look in the mirror and say: I look good! If it's cold enough to wear leggings, then you need more than a thin layer of cotton and/or lycra over those legs!
I will admit, leggings are extremely comfortable and hard to resist. But so are pajamas, and we don't wear those in public not do we? Well some do, but that's another story for another time. :) If you'll check the link list, you'll find a link to a fabulous pair of jeans. For those of you who've forgotten what they look like ;)

And please don't get me started on the shiny black plastic ones that are supposed to look like leather pants! I've not yet decided what to make of the "jegging" which is a leggings/jeans combo platter. I might be ok with those. Okay, I'll climb down from my soapbox now...
But please do remember ladies, next time you fee the urge to leave you house (or dorm) in just leggings: throw a dress on over them, or swap them for a pair of jeans. Then you'll be golden :)

The Inagural Post.

Well off I go, venturing into the world of blogging! As of right now, I'm not sure what future posts will consist of...probably links to awesome fashion finds I've discovered or observed. I do know this, I'm going to have a field day with Awards season while it lasts :) But for this first post I thought I'd provide a look into and an overview of my own personal style, just so you readers can get a feel for where my tastes lie, and where I'm coming from. So here are some random facts about my favorite fashionable things:
  • I love skinny jeans. My roommate is always trying to get me to wear book cut ones more often, but I just love skinnes more. But I will say, you can't go wrong with a good-fitting pair of bootcuts.
  • I love peacock feathers. So much.
  • I hate crocs. They are hideous.
  • Most people tell my that my style is bohemian and earthy, but I think eclectic is just they best way to describe it. I have a little bit of everything.
  • I'm obsessed with old and vintage fashions. My grandma's closet is one of my favorite places to shop.
  • I also loved owls. I've loved them for a long time, long before they were the 'cool' think to like.
  • Kate Hudson's style is amazing. So is Emma Watson's.
  • I have a penchant for huge earrings, but I'm developing a love for studs too.
  • I love solid-colored v-neck tees with pockets.
  • I have 40 pairs of shoes...at least.
  • I also had moccasins way before they were cool.
  • My new favorite thing are my Toms shoes!
That's enough about me for now, and next time I promise the post will be far more entertaining! But let me just clarify one thing, I think that a "good sense of fashion" is relative for every single person, depending on who they are, and what their circumstances are. Some examples as food for thought: I can't (and wont) dress like Rihanna. I go to a small Christian college, people would look at me like I was on crack. People who live in NYC and people who live in the rural southeast just can't wear the same things on a daily basis. It just won't work. But the normal people of the world have every right to be fashionable. That's what I'm here to do, to provide people with some realistic fashion perspective. In the words of the amazing Sarah Jessica Parker: "Fashion is not a luxury." Amen SJP, amen. It's not a luxury, it's a necessity.
